Privacy Policy

LifeDrift (lifedrift.life) is a personal blog operated by Jun, an individual based in Singapore. This Privacy Policy explains how I collect, use, disclose, and protect personal data when you visit this website or contact me, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) of Singapore.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for this site is Jun, writing as the author of LifeDrift. You can reach me at [email protected] or by post at Blk 5 Banda Street, #03-08, Singapore 050005. This is a personal blog — not a company, agency, or registered business entity.

2. What personal data I collect

Contact form: When you use the Say hello form, I collect your name, email address, and message content. You must tick the consent checkbox before sending. I do not collect payment details, NRIC numbers, or other sensitive identifiers through this site.

Cookies and similar technologies: This site uses essential cookies to remember your cookie preference. If you accept analytics cookies, anonymised usage statistics may be collected through standard web analytics tools. You can accept all, reject all, or customise via the cookie banner.

Server logs: My hosting provider may automatically log technical data such as IP address, browser type, referring URL, and access time. I access these logs only for security or troubleshooting and do not link them to identifiable individuals unless required by law.

3. Purposes of collection and use

I use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To respond to messages you send through the contact form
  • To operate and secure the website
  • To remember your cookie preferences for six months
  • To understand general traffic patterns if you consent to analytics
  • To comply with legal obligations when applicable

I do not use your data for direct marketing unless you explicitly ask to receive updates, and I do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.

4. Legal basis and consent

Under the PDPA, I rely on your consent when you submit the contact form and when you choose cookie settings in the banner. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting me; withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

5. Disclosure to third parties

Personal data may be processed by:

  • My email and hosting providers, solely to deliver and store messages and site files
  • Analytics providers, only if you consent to analytics cookies
  • Authorities, if required by Singapore law or valid legal process

These parties are expected to protect data in line with applicable law. I do not transfer personal data outside Singapore unless necessary for hosting or email delivery, in which case reasonable safeguards apply.

6. Retention

Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable record of correspondence — typically up to twelve months unless a longer period is required. Cookie consent choices are stored locally in your browser for six months. Server logs are retained according to my host's policy, usually no longer than ninety days.

7. Your rights under the PDPA

You may request access to, correction of, or withdrawal of consent for your personal data held by me. You may also ask how your data has been used or disclosed. To make a request, email [email protected] with enough detail for me to identify your message. I will respond within a reasonable period as required by law.

8. Security

I take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect personal data, including HTTPS, form validation, and a honeypot field to reduce spam. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; I cannot guarantee absolute security but I aim to handle data responsibly.

9. Children's privacy

This site is intended for general readers and is not directed at children under thirteen. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data, contact me and I will delete it promptly.

10. Links to other sites

Posts may mention external places or link to third-party websites. I am not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies separately.

11. Changes to this policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when revisions are posted. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acknowledgment of the updated policy.

Personal blog disclaimer

This is a personal blog. Everything here is written by me and reflects my own experiences, opinions and memories at the time of writing. Places and everyday moments are described from my own point of view; I don't name or speak for anyone else, and I try to write about my neighbourhood kindly and honestly.
